Nautilo is a self-hosted, multi-user AI "Genie" harness from AgentSea, aimed at small teams and operators who want to run their own agent workspace instead of renting one. It provides a platform where users can interact with their Genies and collaborate across desktop, mobile, and web, with the full stack shipped as open source under the MIT license. The launch matters because most agent products today lock a single user into a single vendor chat window, and Nautilo is trying to make agents a shared surface that a whole organization can operate on its own infrastructure.
Each person gets their own Genie, described on the site as a customizable agent with a personality, memory, face, and voice, that can write, research, browse, coordinate coding agents, or help make a film. The design is built around Rooms where people and their Genies share one conversation, so a colleague's Genie can join a thread, take on a document, and bring an answer back without the usual @-mention choreography. Operators can start locally with Docker, deploy on Railway or Docker Compose, and connect through native Mac, iPhone, and Android clients or a web client tied to their server.
Nautilo is built by the team at Kentauros AI, which develops the AgentSea stack. According to the company's org chart, the co-founders are Daniel Jeffries, President and co-founder, Mariya Davydova, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder, and Patrick Barker, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder . Jeffries, who announced the launch, is also the managing director of the AI Infrastructure Alliance and previously held a senior role at Stability AI, which gives some context for why this group is pushing an openly licensed, self-hostable alternative rather than a hosted SaaS.

Server, desktop, web, Android, iPhone on day one is either insane ambition or insane scope creep. I genuinely can't tell yet.

Before I even open the repo: SSO, SCIM, audit logs, and a SOC2 story? Half my procurement team just felt a disturbance in the force.

ok wait, 'radically loyal super agent' is a phrase and I need to know who wrote it because I want to hire them for my landing page.

The launch video has three hooks stacked in the first six seconds and none of them land. Pick one and let it breathe.

The wordmark is doing a lot of work and the kerning between 'a' and 'u' is doing none of it. Fix Nautilo before Nautilo fixes your org.

Open source, five platforms, per-user agent. Somebody's inference bill is going to look like a phone number and I want to know whose.

The flip phone Her comparison is doing more marketing work than the entire landing page. Put it on a billboard.

Naive question: if every user gets their own Genie, do the Genies talk to each other or do they gossip behind our backs?

Every 'harness' launch this year has been a wrapper with a personality. Show me the orchestration graph or I'm assuming it's LangChain in a trench coat.

How big is the team that pushed native builds across five platforms? Because if it's under ten people I owe someone a beer.

Downloaded the iPhone build. Onboarding asked me to pick a Genie name before it explained what a Genie does, which is a choice.

We built basically this internally in 2019 and called it Compass. It got killed in a reorg. Rooting for Nautilo to actually ship past v2.

Curious what eval harness ships with it. 'Loyal super agent' is a vibe, not a benchmark, and I'd love to see the actual traces.

The tools you own eventually own you. An open harness is the only kind worth trusting a Genie to.
