About the launch
Muse Voice lets people talk to Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, and hear it answer out loud while the agent keeps working on the request. The feature is rolling out now to users in the United States on the Muse app for phones, the web, and Mac, after Meta previewed it at Connect in September. A session starts from the phone icon. Replies come back right away, you can interrupt, and you can switch among hundreds of voices, including styles Meta describes as a New Yorker or a pirate. An avatar can stay hidden, sit beside the chat, or fill the screen, with expressions and gestures that follow the conversation. Meta says voice on its AI glasses and the Muse Charm device is still to come. The launch video follows a cooking ask from craving to action. A person in Austin who misses Italian food talks through dinner. Muse uses the location, proposes a Texas take on an Italian dish, offers to order the ingredients, and offers to invite someone over to help cook. Meta describes the same mode for talking through a trip that is still half an idea, rehearsing an interview or a pitch, or passing off a task while walking or cooking. The exchange runs on Muse Realtime Voice and Muse Realtime Avatar, so the talk can continue while the agent is still working in the background. Muse, available in its app, at muse.ai, and in WhatsApp, already carries out tasks on a dedicated cloud computer called Muse Secure VM, with its own browser. People connect apps such as email and calendar, and they approve sensitive steps such as sending an email or making a purchase before those happen. Voice is the new way to give that agent the next instruction when typing is the wrong moment.
