About the launch
Broccoli builds AI agents for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other home service companies, including garage door, roofing, and pest control. The agents answer inbound calls, book jobs in the scheduling software a contractor already uses, follow up on open estimates, renew memberships, and collect home and equipment details before a technician arrives. After the visit they stay in contact with the homeowner and catch follow-ups that would otherwise lapse. This launch announces $52 million raised across a Series A and a Series B, closed nine months apart. Khosla Ventures led both rounds, with Y Combinator and Operator Partners participating. More than 1,500 businesses use Broccoli, including Ace Hardware Home Services, Any Hour Group, Mr. Electric, and Authority Brands. The company says those businesses have handled more than 10 million customer conversations and booked 2.5 million appointments on the platform. Based in San Francisco, with offices in Utah and a team of 160, Broccoli plans to use the funding to hire and expand the product. AJ Jain and Adi Ketkar, who met at BITS Pilani, co-founded the company after building Telematica, a Y Combinator company. Their first customer was Armstrong Plumbing, led by Marcelle Flowers, who later joined as Chief Industry Officer. The founders sat with that business, tested an inbound agent on live customer calls, and booked a real job on a weekend test before taking it to other contractors.
