Ampersand provides integration infrastructure that lets AI agents read from and write to the systems of record their customers actually run, including Salesforce, SAP, NetSuite, HubSpot, and Workday. The company creates a custom data model covering the fields, objects, permissions, and workflows that define each enterprise, letting agents take bi-directional actions inside existing systems. It is aimed at AI-native software vendors selling into the enterprise, where every customer's CRM or ERP has drifted into a different shape and generic connectors fall apart on contact with real data.
The product powers actions for 11x, Orb and Square in Salesforce, SAP, NetSuite and Workday , which is the pitch of this launch: deep, per-tenant integrations treated as declarative code rather than one-off engineering projects. Developers declare an integration once and Ampersand handles every per-customer instance at runtime , replacing the usual pattern of senior engineers getting pulled off the roadmap to map fields in onboarding calls and babysit schemas that change overnight.
Ampersand was co-founded by Ayan Barua and Lauren Long , who come at the problem from both sides of it. Ayan previously ran engineering at G2 and worked at Siftery, where CRM and ERP integration work consumed large chunks of product engineering time each quarter, while Lauren built Firebase Extensions at Google at a scale of billions of executions a day. The launch coincides with a $15 million Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners , timed to the moment when enterprise buyers are starting to ask AI vendors a harder question than "what can your agent do," namely whether it can actually act inside the systems where their business runs.

The Salesforce + SAP integration graveyard is where most AI demos go to die. Picking this wedge is a very grown-up decision.

Three sentence tweet, three customer logos, one clean url. This is how you launch when you've actually shipped something.

Logo wall is nice but what does net revenue retention look like once 11x churns through their third ICP pivot? Will tweet 'interesting' once I see cohort curves.

How is the docs situation? Integration SDKs live or die by whether I can get a working webhook in under 10 minutes without opening a sales call.

This might be the final integration platform humans ever write by hand. The next one will be an agent reading OpenAPI specs at 3am and self-healing.

Dumb question but when the agent writes to Salesforce and the sales rep also writes to Salesforce at the same time, who wins?

Before anyone on my team touches this: SOC2 Type 2, SSO on the base tier not the enterprise upsell, and a DPA that doesn't require a lawyer and a priest.

Dying to know the headcount here. Integration infra usually screams team of 40 but the vibe of this launch feels like 8 people and a lot of coffee.

Where does the token for the customer's SAP instance actually live, and does your SOC2 scope cover the agent's action logs? Asking for every GC about to review this.

Agents taking autonomous action in systems of record is screaming for an onchain audit trail. No one asked but I'm saying it anyway.

Fifth 'integration layer for AI agents' launch I've seen this quarter but first one with customers I recognize without squinting.

The tweet copy slaps because 'your AI is vaporware without' is a hook, not a feature list. More founders should open with the knife.

Been saying this since my Merge check: the moat in AI isn't the model, it's whoever owns the write path into the CRM. Ampersand is playing the right game.
