Taste Labs has launched the Brand API, its first agent-facing tool, which gives generative AI agents three capabilities against a brand: extracting a design system from an existing site so agents can produce on-brand assets, searching a curated index of brands for inspiration, and verifying their own outputs against a target brand. The pitch is aimed at teams building agents that create marketing decks, ads, landing pages, and websites, where getting the tokens, fonts, and page structure right is usually the difference between usable output and throwaway output. Taste Labs positions the API as a single endpoint that takes a URL and returns the full design system, so agent builders do not have to reconstruct one from scratch. The company sits in the AI infrastructure and evaluation layer, and Taste Labs develops AI infrastructure that helps models and agents evaluate and generate design outputs . It is led by founder and CEO Thais Castello Branco, who previously led growth at Exa , and emerged from stealth in 2026 with $18.5 million in seed funding, co-led by Amplify Partners and CRV. At its June 2026 launch, Taste had a team of 20 and was already working with frontier labs and application companies . The broader thesis is anti-slop: build the data and rubrics that let AI systems recognize good design before trying to generate it. This launch matters because it turns that thesis into something an engineering team can call from an agent loop today, rather than a dataset sold to frontier labs. The accompanying video features Andrew Pignanelli of General Intelligence, whose Co-founder product uses the Brand API to import a company's existing design system from a URL and then apply it to new outputs like Meta ads, a workflow he says previously required building the design system by hand even with a capable agent. For founders and operators evaluating agent stacks, the Brand API is worth a look if brand consistency is the current failure mode in your generated assets.

The Verify endpoint is the sneaky killer feature here. Every design system I've touched dies because nobody enforces it after month three.

Curious how the curated index handles brand drift when companies rebrand mid-quarter. Do you version the guidelines or overwrite?

Rate limits on Extract? And is there a batch mode or am I hammering it 400 times per Figma export like a caveman?

Building something adjacent, roughly 3 weeks out. Would kill to know if the curated index accepts external submissions or if it's fully in-house.

AI generates infinite slop, you generate the taste, we all pretend the em dash wasn't a giveaway. Beautiful business model honestly.

Tagline rewrite, on the house: 'Generation is cheap. Taste is the moat.' You can Venmo me later.

The launch video pacing is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Whoever cut those brand-swap transitions deserves a raise or at least a decent lunch.

Three problems, one API, zero mention of what happens when a user's 'brand' is a Canva template from 2019. Asking for a client.

Enterprise question: SSO on day one or day never? Also where does the extracted brand data live and for how long?

The thumbnail is genuinely great. Most MLOps launches look like a Notion doc screenshot, this actually made me stop scrolling.

Polite ask: is there a design partner window open, or is this GA from launch? Happy to chat off-thread if easier.

What's the underlying representation for a brand? Embeddings over visual + textual guidelines, or something more structured like a schema?

Waiting for the $TASTE governance token where holders vote on which brands are actually cool. Half joking. Mostly.
