StarSling is agent-native CI for GitHub Actions, aimed at engineering teams whose coding agents now ship features faster than their pipelines can verify them. The company's original product, StarSling Runners, is an AI-native drop-in replacement for ubuntu-latest and ubuntu-24.04 that make your GitHub Actions up to 6x faster , paired with agents that continuously scan workflows and open pull requests to improve caching, sharding, and dependency setup. This launch adds StarSling Review Runners, a product that lets engineering teams define separate reviewers for areas such as security, APIs, tests, databases or frontend architecture , with each reviewer configured through repository-specific instructions, scripts, and skills.
The pitch to buyers is a different economic model for AI code review. Customers bring an API key for their chosen model provider, and StarSling supplies the compute that runs the review job, starting at $0.004 per minute for a two-vCPU runner, while the model provider bills the customer directly for tokens. That structure lets StarSling sell infrastructure without reselling model usage or adding another per-seat AI subscription. Reviewer configuration is versioned alongside the code, and instructions and skills are loaded from the trusted base branch before the model runs, preventing code submitted in a pull request from rewriting the reviewer evaluating it, with the model receiving a read-only token . Each pass returns one structured comment containing a verdict, findings organized by severity, file and line references, and proposed fixes , and in-flight reviews are cancelled when new commits land so the final output tracks the latest diff.
StarSling was founded in 2025 by Yonas Beshawred and Daniel Worku, and went through Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch . Beshawred previously founded StackShare, the developer community and enterprise software business acquired by FOSSA in 2024, and Worku led the 12-person engineering group behind Netflix Console, an internal developer portal used across Netflix, after working on Facebook's AI Camera team. The launch coincides with a $3 million pre-seed round from Bessemer Venture Partners and Y Combinator, along with Vermilion Cliffs Ventures, Precursor Ventures, Cervin Ventures, Outset Capital and Transpose Platform , plus angels including Sentry co-founder David Cramer, former GitHub engineer Zach Holman, Rocket Money co-founder and CTO Idris Mokhtarzada and Phosphor Capital founder Kulveer Taggar . StarSling reports handling more than two million CI jobs to date for customers such as Mastra and Better Auth.

Running review agents inside GitHub Actions is the right call. Nobody wants another dashboard to babysit.

The tweet buries the actual product under the funding line. Lead with the runners, brag about the check later.

What's the rate limit story when the agent fans out across a monorepo PR with 400 files? Asking for my very tired CI budget.

Naive question but what happens if two review agents disagree on the same PR? Do they fight or does the human tiebreak?

BYO model key is underrated. I don't want yet another vendor holding my Anthropic bill hostage.

At Meta in 2019 we had an internal linter bot that did roughly 12% of this. Took 40 engineers. Carry on.

Tagline rewrite, on the house: 'Code review that reviews like your best engineer.' You can Venmo me later.

First 10 seconds of the landing page needs the agent doing a review, not a hero shot. Show me the diff being roasted.

Any SOC2 story yet, or is this still 'trust us bro' phase? My procurement team eats startups like this for breakfast.

How small was the team that shipped this? If it's under 5 I'm going to be insufferable about it on my timeline all week.
