Slash is a business banking platform aimed at the kinds of operators who don't fit a traditional bank's mold, including e-commerce sellers, agencies, creators, and crypto-native companies. The company offers a product suite that combines Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.-insured business checking and corporate cards with uncapped cash-back, expense management, treasury, global payments, invoicing, working capital and stablecoin support into a single platform. It was founded about five years ago by CEO Victor Cardenas and CTO Kevin Bai, both who were 19 years old at the time, and are now 24 , and graduated from Y Combinator's S21 batch.
This launch marks a Series C round and the debut of Twin, the company's new AI agent. Slash Financial, Inc., the banking platform built for modern businesses, is now valued at $1.4 billion following a $100 million Series C , with the round led by Ribbit Capital and co-led by Khosla Ventures and Goodwater Capital. Twin, Slash's new AI-powered financial agent, brings a new level of intelligence and automation to the financial workflows of existing Slash customers. Twin acts as an AI Chief of Staff by leveraging contextual access to a company's entire Slash account to take action on its behalf. It also unveiled an AI tool for tasks such as executing payments, sending invoices, and creating corporat e reimbursements, with every transaction gated by explicit user approval.
The launch matters because it pushes business banking past dashboards and into agent-driven workflows, putting Slash in direct competition with Ramp, Brex, and Mercury on a different axis. For founders running lean ops, the pitch is that routine finance work (invoice follow-ups, expense reports, recurring purchases) can be handed off to an agent that already sits inside the account moving the money, rather than bolted on through integrations.

Twin sounds great until my AI private banker hallucinates a wire to Belarus. What's the human escape hatch when the model gets confident and wrong?

The cut at 0:18 where you transition from the dashboard to the Twin reveal is genuinely clean. Whoever edited this earned their week.

The tweet copy is doing too much. Series C, valuation, lead, co-leads, AND a product reveal in one post is just begging the algorithm to pick a fight.

ok wait, business banking AND an AI banker on the same launch day? Either ambitious or burying the lede twice.

How big is the team that shipped Twin? If it's under fifteen people I'm closing my laptop and crying.

Watched the onboarding clip frame by frame. Six taps to a funded account is fine, but that KYC modal looks like it was designed in a different decade than the rest of the app.

Valuation is cute. What does net revenue retention on the SMB cohort look like after twelve months, because that's the whole story here.

That demo is suspiciously smooth. I want to see Twin handle a real reconciliation with three currencies and a failed ACH before I call it a banker.

Curious which sponsor bank is sitting behind this and whether Twin's outputs count as financial advice in any jurisdiction. Asking for my future self.

hot take: 'AI private banker' is the most 2025 phrase ever printed and I will be using it in my next pitch deck unironically

Internet entrepreneurs banking with no stablecoin rails in 2025 feels like a choice. Twin should at least know what USDC is.
